Director’s Message

Welcome  to  the Village Glen website!!

Village Glen School offers a college preparatory curriculum to students with social and communicative differences in both Sherman Oaks and in Culver City. It serves students from kindergarten through twelfth grade and includes specialized programs such as Beacon, for students who need a more intensive behavioral program, and Pace for students who are dually-exceptional (Aspergers and Gifted).

The innovative and integrated curriculum in Village Glen follows the California State Framework from kindergarten through High School utilizing research-based strategies and accommodations that enable our students to maximize their potential.  Village Glen uses a multifaceted approach to maximize our students’ success.  The academic program is rigorous, but is also designed to meet individual learning needs and learning styles. There is a strong emphasis on the development of executive functioning skills as this is often an area of need. And finally, the common thread is the need to promote appropriate social skills in our young people. Village Glen’s curriculum includes didactic Social Skill instruction every day in every class and is followed up with guided generalization to real settings throughout the day.

Village Glen also offers a rich and rewarding extracurricular program including athletic teams, participation in creative and performing arts, and opportunities to give back to the community through a wide range of service projects.  Our students have many interests, abilities, and talents. Village Glen School strives to give students opportunities to shine in their areas of interest or ability.

I invite you to explore our website for a more in depth look at the Village Glen School.  Please feel free to contact us for additional information or to inquire about applying to attend Village Glen.
