THE PACE PROGRAM AT VILLAGE GLEN SCHOOL


The Pace Program, for gifted and talented students, meets provides a forum for academic exploration and creative expression.   Emphasis is put on teaching social skills along with a curriculum that reflects complexity, novelty, depth and pace appropriate for gifted students.   Students are presented with learning opportunities that encourage high level thinking, and the pursuit of interest and/or talent based studies.   In grades 9-12, the Pace Program is organized in a separate Pace Track, offering Honors, Pre-Advanced Placement, and Advanced Placement classes in Math, English, and the Sciences, as well as specialized social skill classes for the gifted.

In grades 4-6 and 7-8, the Pace Program offers self-contained Elementary and Middle School classes. The academic program is challenging and enriched, with emphasis on infusing into the classroom a variety of teaching models designed for gifted learners.
