Boy Scout Patrick DiTomaso of Troop 642 in Simi Valley presents Betty Eskey and Greg Seymour of the Samaritan Center with 405 jackets, 126 pairs of underwear (new) and 225 pairs of socks last week. Patrick, 17, originally set out to collect 175 used jackets—one for every estimated homeless person in Simi Valley—as part of his Eagle Scout project, but ended up with far more after the community responded in force to an article in the Acorn on March 6.
