For my Eagle project I built a palm tree garden for the Men’s Club of Shomrei Torah Synagogue and the surrounding community. Every year the men’s club builds a Sukkah for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot which requires palm fronds as the roof as is the custom. In the past, LA County has supplied the palm fronds to the Jewish community but due to a fungus attacking and destroying the trees, LA County has stopped supplying them. So, I planted 6 Palm Trees, built 8 Redwood Benches, a white Marble Pit and a small brick retaining wall against the hill on the far side of the garden.
